The Challenge of Being Authentic In the Age of AI
Machine-generated output, even if it can't pass Turing Test for large language models, is still good enough to pass. However, there are some serious challenges.
- It's becoming increasingly difficult to tell the difference between AI-generated and human-created content, as we have already stated.
- AI users have difficulty trusting and verifying its output.
- Marketers may become more dependent on these models and lose their originality and creativity. Even if you rewrite every sentence, interactions with models can lead you to take actions that are not your own.
- The language models could be misused to spread misinformation or distort public opinion. It can be difficult for authentic people to do so.
- Language models could be used to manipulate or exploit personal information of people, as shown in this case.
- A decrease in communication skills may result from reliance on large language models. We don't know. It is possible that this ability could lead to cursive writing.
- If they believe that they are consuming machine-generated content, their audience may not be as likely to engage in meaningful dialogue.
These issues or perhaps because of them, it is impossible to ignore the advancements of AI. Because of its widespread pervasiveness, it is impossible to not use it.
